Where it all started ...
... and why we understand our customer needs more than anyone else.
Student Essentials was founded by Kostas whilst he was medical student at King's College London. He was working as a part time receptionist and every September, he will get overwhelmed by the number of students coming to the reception asking where to get their duvet, pillows and kitchen items.
There was no easy solution we could offer other than tell the students to take the tube or bus and find a big enough supermarket to buy all their essentials. Then they had to carry them back home, which was tiring and time consuming.
One day Kostas said to his mum, "What if I start a business that delivers University Starter Packs to students". The answer was a straight up "No, you have to focus on your studies". Kostas didn't like this answer and so he spent every evening on developing this company.
Student Essentials has now delivered to over 1000 students across many accommodations and universities in the UK and the number keeps going up. Not bad for a university student after all...
